A paghjella from Corsica, composed by singer-teacher Jean-Etienne Langianni. Our version was popularized by Ensemble Tavagna, with the "angel voice" or high harmonic overtone sung by a fourth voice. It would have more traditionally been sung with only three parts, and with solo voices.
lyrics
This is an elusive poem, translating something like:
You may boast, youth; but your elders are everywhere
Even if you are nimble like a deer, they will hunt you down
And like hunters, they are watching night and day
